We believe that parents come to care for the place in which their children learn when they are a part of the process of building a great school.

At KMS Parents make up the Board of Directors. Parents work in small groups to organize KMS fundraising initiatives, social events, and marketing plans. Parents volunteer their time as guests in classrooms; sharing their special skills and knowledge. Parents support parents, and parents work closely with their child's teacher. When parents work alongside the staff, together they create a kind of place in which children are able to cultivate their natural desire to learn.

There are many ways to be involved as a parent of your KMS child:

• Volunteer to be a member of the Board of Directors or a member on a committee.
• Attend parent information nights, public open houses, and the school's special events
• Let your child's teacher know you will share your skills and knowledge when students are inspired to work in an area of your expertise
• Donate to various fundraising initiatives for capital projects to maintain the health of the school and/or to purchase Montessori materials. Donate to our libraries by attending our annual Book Fair.
• Volunteer time on field trips, special classroom activities, or offer to help repair a window or build a garden.
